  Obituaries - Apr. 11, 2008 WOOLNER, Kenneth Arthur (K.A.) - Peacefully, with his children at his side, at Pinehaven Nursing Home, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008. He had just celebrated his 74th birthday. Dear father of Mark and Gillian, and grandfather of Matthew and Emma. Predeceased by his wife of almost 35 years, Marion (1995); and Mary (2004); parents, Grace and Leslie; his brother, Bernard and his grandson, Luke. As one of the starting professors at the University of Waterloo in 1958, Ken indulged in his passion of teaching until his retirement in 1995. He leaves behind a wealth of friends and family in both England and Canada who will miss him deeply. Cremation has taken place. To respect his wishes, there will be no service or funeral. A get-together to celebrate his life will take place at the University Club on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 4 p.m. To celebrate Ken's teaching career, gifts in memory can be made to the K.A. Woolner Memorial Scholarship in Physics, c/o The Faculty of Science, University of Waterloo, 200 University Ave. W., Waterloo, ON N2L 3G1. Special thanks to the staff at Pinehaven Nursing Home for their care and compassion of 'the professor' during the last years of his life. All those who knew Ken will miss his quick wit, clever sense of humour and outlook on life.
